After no one matched all five numbers plus the Powerball in the Monday, Dec. 4, drawing for $412 million, the jackpot climbed to $435 million for Wednesday, Dec. 6. Though that's a lot of dough, it's not quite large enough to be in the Top 10 biggest jackpots in U.S. history (see below).

Wednesday numbers were 2-12-37-56-65 and the Powerball was 21. Power Play was 3x. And the jackpot will go higher.

Saturday's Powerball jackpot now climbs to $468 million, with a cash option of $220.3 million. The was one big winner from Wednesday night's drawing. A ticket purchased in California won a $1 million prize by matching 5 numbers.

In case you're wondering, Monday's winning Powerball numbers were 18-19-27-28-45 and the Powerball was 9. Power Play was 3x. It wasn't all bad news, though: There was one ticket with a big winner from New York, matching 5 for $1 million.

Meanwhile, as Powerball climbs, there's one state lottery jackpot that remains unclaimed.

If a Grand Prize goes unclaimed, the money must be returned to all lotteries in proportion to their sales for the draw run. The lotteries then distribute the money, based on their own jurisdiction's laws, to other lottery games or to their jurisdiction's general fund, or otherwise as required by law."
